Career Resource Centre

Career Resource Centre

The subjects, courses, educational institutions chosen by students have a substantial impact on their personal and professional development. Keeping this in mind, Cambridge School,  Srinivaspuri  runs a structured career guidance programme for its senior students to enable our students to discover their aptitudes and interests, strengths and ambitions  to make informed choices at each step of their careers. We have partnered with IDream career in this initiative.

The career guidance program in 2024-2025 will include parents’ orientation sessions, information sessions/workshops by experts in various fields, psychometric assessments, one-to-one interactions between counsellors and students/parents, internship/volunteering opportunities where possible and more. A dedicated career counsellor will be available in the school 2-3 times in a week to resolve career-related queries of students and parents.

Some of the themes that these activities will touch upon are –  how can a student choose his/her preferred subject combination/courses/universities; prepare for coveted/new age competitive exams such as CUET, JEE, NEET, CLAT, UCEED, etc.; liberal studies; profile building and more. The school will also organise a career fair following the half yearly exams, giving students a chance to meet representatives from different universities and understand their course offerings.

Cambridge School, Sriniwaspuri, has set up a Career Resource Centre to cater to students of Classes 9 to 12. This initiative has been taken in collaboration with Admizzionz Campuzz. In addition, Cambridge Schools’ in-house career counsellor regularly visits the school to meet students on a one-on-one and group basis.

Comprising a series of workshops on different themes related to career planning, regular visits by expert counsellors, psychometric assessments, and one-to-one interactions between students and the counsellors, the Career Resource Centre aims to facilitate informed career decision-making among students.  The counsellors acquaint students with the plethora of career options available to them and the evolving industry trends. One of the major focus areas of the counselling process is to disseminate among students an understanding of how they should find the best match between their personal strengths and the opportunities that the industry offers.

Below are a few glimpses of some recent career counselling events conducted at the school.

Career guidance workshops

The school organised career guidance workshops for students of Classes 10 and 12 on April 13 and April 20’ 23. The speaker for these workshops was Ms. Harminder from Admizzionz Campuzz. She elucidated the various career options corresponding with specific subject combinations. Students were apprised of some promising career options such as artificial intelligence, public policy, liberal arts, etc. that would help them establish themselves in the future workforce.

‘Notifyme’ alerts app

Access to the ‘Notifyme’ alerts app is provided to the students of Class 12 to help them keep a track of the university applications, scholarships, internships, etc.

One-on-one sessions

Regular individual career counselling sessions are conducted for the students of classes 10 and 12. The results of the CIP and MIP assessments, along with other related queries are discussed in these sessions. Parents are also encouraged to meet the counsellor and stay in loop regarding their ward’s guidance and counselling process. There are follow-up sessions, if required.
